Our Story

There’s something so cute about a kid in a baseball hat that makes so many of us nostalgic about our own summers.

Growing up my dad always had me and my sister in baseball hats. They were usually too big and made us look like bobble heads but we were outside all day in the summers and it was part of what we wore.

Hats became our thing, and anytime we visited somewhere my dad would look at us and ask, “so do you wanna get a hat?” Our collection grew and it was a souvenir we’d look forward to.

This picture in particular is one of those core memories of my sister and me. We were at the tail end of a long day selling lemonade on the golf course at our neighborhood club in Upstate New York.

My dad loved this picture so much that he’s had it on his dashboard for years that it’s now worn and faded from the sun.

My sister and I have kids of our own now. My son, who’s been happy to wear hats since a few weeks old. And my nephew who rips every hat off the first chance he gets 😂 (and is who inspired me to add a removable hat strap to keep it in place on those sunny days).

I hope you love what we’ve created in Saltwater Trail, but most of all I hope you create memories wearing these hats that you’ll have forever.
