Size 1 (48cm) typically fits infant, 9 months through 24 months
Size 2 (52cm) typically fits toddler, 18 months through 5 years old
Size 3 (54cm) typically fits youth, 5+ years old
Using a cloth measuring tape measure your child's head circumference in centimeters (cm). Alternatively, if you don't have a cloth measuring tape, you can use a string to measure- just mark where it connects around your child's head and then measure that length in centimeters.
When in doubt, size up so that they have a chance to grow into their hat!
